John is a Southern California born music teacher who emphasizes teaching through forming personal connections with his students, and creating a space where they’re able to explore the full depth of the study of music. He has a wide variety of performance experience in piano, vocal performance, and composition. His work has largely been in theatre, and includes musicals from Sweeney Todd to Spring Awakening, as well as operatic and art song repertoire. He has taught a wide variety of students in music practice, theory, and foreign language in both group and individual settings. He recently graduated from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee (’20) with his Master’s in Music Composition. John still works as a composer, having mounted two operas and a slew of concerts and online performances. In his free time he enjoys studying foreign languages and curling up with a good book.
